Hope
Hope Children's Home (HCH)provides a loving and caring environment for children who need it the most. HCH was founded in 2001 by members of the Church of Christ in the United States. HCH offers hope to abused, abandoned and neglected children of Guyana.
Many abandoned or orphaned children in Guyana have been severely abused and /or molested while others have been left alone for days with no one to care for them. A large number of children were abandoned at birth, left at the public hospital, while others were abandoned by parents who immigrated in search of a better life. Still, more children are left orphaned resulting from death of one or both parents.
Mission
To develop the whole child by training the mind, character and spirit of each child to achieve his or her potential in life. HCH encourages ethical development by raising the awareness in children of their God given skill and abilities. HCH promotes commitment to self betterment by upholding ethical standards in the development of each child: trustworthiness, respect, responsibilty, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. Hope teaches children to be in control of their choices, thus preparing them for personal stability throughout their life.
